Math

Sadler-Oxford: Progress in Mathematics

In 5th and 6th grades, students continue to focus on place value, number operations number theory, fractions, operations with fractions, and then operations with decimals.

In the second semester, we begin working with expressions and equations, integers, ratios, proportions, and percents.

Science

Pearson/Prentice Hall: Focus on Earth Science

In year one, fifth and sixth graders will study the earth’s systems and processes, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanos, climate, weather, and meteorology.

Catholic Heritage Curricula: Behold and See 5

In year two, fifth and sixth graders take a hands-on approach to investigating God’s creation close-up. Topics include metamorphosis, food webs, conservation of energy, human physiology and biochemistry, logic and scientific reasoning, plant and animal competitions, and an introduction to genetics.
