Mr. Baldner grew up in Detroit in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. After graduating from Western Michigan University with secondary teaching credentials in math and science, he taught at the West Highland Christian Academy in Milford for six years. He met his wife during this time while coaching against her son at a weekend basketball tournament at St Mary Catholic School in Pinckney. She served him coffee at the concession stand, and he was smitten.
Since then, Mr. Baldner has worked in Big Rapids in Alternative education, in Onekama as a high school math teacher and coach, with home-bound students, as a Sylvan Learning instructor, and with homeschoolers. His conversion to the Catholic Church followed shortly after his marriage, and he is very thankful for God's gift of life, His Son, His Spirit, and His Church.
Mr Baldner is thankful to now be a part of the faith family at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic School.
