St. Philomena, Powerful with God, Pray for Us!
Staff and students share their devotion to St. Philomena, Patroness Saint of Holy Spirit Catholic School, by adorning her statue on her birthday, January 10th.
St. Philomena’s Birthday
St. Philomena is remembered on her Feast Day, August 11, with prayers. Our parish family prays a Novena to St. Philomena from August 3 - 11, ending on her Feast Day. The St. Philomena prayer is recited at the end of every Mass.

Finding Our New Principals
In 2019, we were actively seeking to fill the position of our Principal at Holy Spirit Catholic School. The school prayed two separate novenas to St. Philomena. Upon completing the first novena, our Interim Principal, Mrs. Flack, was hired. Mrs. Flack guided our school until we could find the perfect candidate to fill the Holy Spirit Catholic School's Principal position. It was through the intercessions of St. Philomena that Ms. Laura was brought to us.
When Ms. Laura sought to retire in 2022, the school community once again appealed to St. Philomena for her intercession in finding a new principal for Holy Spirit Catholic School. In the fall of 2022, Mrs. Pavlock was hired as the new principal, and she began in her new role in January 2023. We thank St. Philomena for her intercession. We praise and thank God for his faithfulness and for the wonderful things He has done for Holy Spirit Catholic School.
Our St. Philomena Story
Building our school.
“A dove showed up on the construction site one day and perched itself on one of the rafters as it was being hoisted into place by a crane.”
The search for our principal.
“We went on a search and interviewed several worthy candidates. They all looked pretty promising, so we puzzled over what to do.”
Growing our school.
“At the beginning of the 2011 school year, we had gained about 10 more students.”
